Survey of Tuxedo

On Tuesday (7/26) I noticed Tuxedo being surveyed. While on my walk, I spoke to the surveyor with Cole Engineering who did not know who had hired his company. A quick call to Webster Groves Public Works revealed that Tuxedo is due for a rebuild next construction season, and thus the reason for the survey.

Unanimous Vote by Webster City Council

Last night Webster Groves City Council members voted unanimously to pass a resolution in opposition to the South County Connector that includes the taking of residential properties in Webster (Resolution 2011.33).  Lori Hunt spoke prior to the vote about the lack of need for this project and how the proposed path would devastate a small Webster neighborhood. Lori also pointed out that if funds were available, they would be better spent on other public transportation needs.

I do not know what impact this resolution might have, but it is nice to know that our local government is also in opposition.
